Praise and thank you

Steeling myself against the high praise meted out by Short Fiction Co-Editor Tom Vowler for my story "While Women Rage in Winter" in this wonderful interview with Catherine McNamara for Short Stops. Catherine's brilliant story "Montgomery Akuofo, Father of Twins" also graces issue 7. Thank you, Tom and Catherine and Short Stops. The interview and the opening to my story can be read here.

  2. Wow! That's amazing. Don't let it go to your head! Or better let it. It's worth enjoying.

  4. I'm happy for you and want you to know I think of you often. I'm so grateful for you suggestions on pushing my poetry forward. I'm still consumed with renovating my moms house, but hope to pursue more writing soon. I haven't blogged in ages and I realize that when I return, there will be fewer blogs I follow (the ones that pop into my mind as I plug away on peevish tasks). Yours - way at the top of the very short list.

  6. It was my pleasure Rae! And what a great time we had! From getting soaked downtown to our hilarious 'rehearsal'. A wonderful story - so lovely to hear you reading it first. Lucky is me! Xcat

  7. Can't thank you enough, Cat! You made the festival for me, I'd have been a bag of nerves without you and that "rehearsal"! xx

  8. Hey gal

Been meaning to say - I got my copy of Short Fiction and your winning story is ace. I felt pool-side as I read it, and so very happy and proud of you!

I've nominated you for another award! It IS awards season afterall. It's one of those (can be) annoying things where you have to say things about yourself but I wrote the questions are they're pretty good so you'll probs want to do it. Ha. But s'riously, no pressure.

    It's here like:

  9. Hullo ladybird,

this is too good: you're giving me an award AND you read my story! I feel I should give you a Ferrero Rocher pyramid artfully repositioned into the form of an Oscar as thanks!
