How short can a short story be?
I wrote what is my most diminutive story today - 82 words, including the title!
What's the shortest story any of you have ever written and what are your views on this?

I've never written one that short but Richard Brautigan's, 'The Scarlatti Tilt' is a hard act to follow:

I hadn't heard of that one, Jim, thanks. I like it. And anyone else who's ever heard anyone learning to play the violin at close quarters will like it, too!

Think most of what I write baffles people. Especially HOM - I really like the bit about the ghost, he said of my last one - there was no ghost in it!
ReplyDeleteI view some of mine as big overwritten poems. At least that way I can say the confusion is deliberate!
