Hope in

Please ask if you would like to copy pictures or content from this blog. Copyright © Rachel J Fenton 2013.

T'other Rachel, fellow blogger and poet, Rachel Fox has a new project, collecting "All Our Hopes and Dreams" (contact her with yours if you'd like them to appear on the blog). Today, I was lucky enough to have a piece about my hopes and dreams included there, along with a couple of pictures. See if you can recognise which of the kids on bikes is me (because t'other Rachel couldn't!)

  1. Yes. The person on the small bike is clearly the same person sitting on the top of the swing.

You've got me reflecting on what my "hopes and dreams" were. I'm not sure. I might have a go.

  3. I just didn't want to presume! Editors should never presume... that's when they make terrible mistakes (I've worked on magazines before...)... and this kind of is a magazine... a very open-to-all one.

Hope to see you all there in some form. I think everyone's hopes and dreams (past and present) are interesting in some way. How they express them of course affects that... so far so good!

  4. Speaking of magazine, it would be fab to see it in print one day.

And, by gum, you're full of the compliments lately! I'd better make the most of them while they last ;)

  5. Oh, that's so great. I love old photographs and life dreams. I didn't get a chance to take a guess, because I saw it already mentioned somewhere that you were the little kid on the right. And only because that kid was wearing a skirt, I would have guessed anyway. Because I am gender biased like that. And the kid has a naughty expression that suits your style.

  6. The photos are off a reel I'd treasured since my granddad died.

I was a naughty kid, I think. I look quite demonic on that trike, don't I? My hair was too short for me to be a witch though, unlike now! Thank you for reading the post. I'm glad you liked it. You should send a post.

Actually, I'm sure it's got there already, come to think of it.

  10. Yes, the crimped nylon check fabric and needle corduroy are memory stand-outs for me, Cat! And who'd have thought fly away collars would go out of fashion? :)
